The weekend was fun. Saturday, My friend and I watched Memoirs of a Geisha. It is a dark film. I am not a fan of seeing other people's misery in life. But when they find what they hoped for at the end,despite all that hardship, I feel that may be, just may be there is still hope for all of us in this world, to make it a better place to live for everyone. Afterwards we participated in IAUT's lecture and at the end, my friend and I decided to join the crowd, who were having dinner with the speaker. It was a very pleasant conversation with the speaker and the rest of the poeple there. I enjoyed my time at Bedford academy where we had dinner. Sunday, I got to start doing some sit ups and streches. I want to become the master of sit ups! have as many sit ups as possible in 1 min;). My friend and I explored Microsoft project and got to play with it a bit. I like to play with it more and learn everything about it. I also made piece with my archives;) and they are back again:)

We watched Casablanca as well!!Apparently it is the # 1 romantic movie of all times! In my humble opinion,I really didn't find the movie that romantic. As my friend puts it, which I agree, I felt touched by the movie. I admired the director for making a 102 min movie full of all types of emotions. The darkness of war times, Love triangles, patriotism and dramatic. But I feel it was more a story of a betrayal than a story of celebration of love or may we won't love someone without betraying someone else? Does one exists without the other, discluding the first loves?

Here is the story of the friday the 10th!

Morning

Christina my manager saw me with handful of project. Came to me and said: Is everything okay?Are you happy here? I was a bit suprized but I said, why yes. Everything is great! how is your daurghter doing?? I just asked the most irrelevent question that just popped into my mind! She said that her daughter was doing fine and she smiled and left!

Afternoon

I had to take a late lunch and by the time I got to the cafe, my supervisor, who just was finished her lunch, looked at me sort of suspiciously! why are you late for lunch?so asked. I had to take care of some stuff,I mumbled. And was suprized why she asked me that question. Regardless I ate and went back to my work, I was just sitting down to start my work and bit chatting with my co-worker, she was going to see her friend on the weekend. I told her that I was bored and I want to go to a party! When my supervisor approached me and said: Can you come with me please. She was holding a folder. At first I thought may be I need to see the auditor and explain something about a project but as we passed the auditor's room, I began feeling nervious. I couldn't breathe anymore. Holding my last breath, I finally asked her is it good news or bad news, as I realized we were approaching one of the manager's offices?!She said:I won't give you bad news, or do you want me to give bad news to you?I said:oh not at all. Please don't even say it if it's bad news! At that moment my mind was racing a mile a second thinking about a reason why we are going there. She directed to sit down and she sat next to me. She asked me if I have applied for the positions offered in the company. I said negative, since the HR needs at least a year of service for contract people. Calmly she told me that my department is offereing me a permanent position!!!I was shocked! All this time I thought I was thinking pessimestically and now I was offered a position??I read the the letter in the folder. My salary was raised and I was eligable for benefits and also after a year I could buy shares of the company!!!I was speechless. The only thing I could do was to give a hug to my supervisor and thank her. She said you think I will let you leave?I think I was blushing at that moment since I had hot flashes!!
It was then and there that I realized what Christina was talking about in the morning. Apparantly everyone knew and it was suprize to me!!since afterwards people came to me and congradulated me.

Late Afternoon

As I was wrapping up to leave work I saw Rod, My director. He said with a smile, did you recieve the letter? With the biggest smile on my face, I said yes and thanked him. He said not to thank him. You were a very good employee and we definately want to keep you here as long as possible! We hope you stay here for a while!I guess he knew that I was starting to look around for other positions!!
My co-worker came to me and said:Now you have to invite your friends and have a party!

This is a true story. It happened to a to me when I was so sure that everything is not going to the direction I wanted them to go. I got suprized on how I sometimes get the incorrect impression of the world arround me!
